Ana and Ionut are a couple of Romanian architects, modern explorers who toured Africa on motorcycle in 420 days.

“In this journey of 14 months and 55 000 kilometers we worked as volunteers in the rain forest of Nigeria, crossed the Sahara Desert in heat at over 54 degrees, we climbed Mount Cameroon, we explored the Okavango Delta and the Congo basin, I lived in a Cameroon hamlet with no money and no phone, we towed a faulty engine for 350 kilometers, we made malaria, we covered 3 000 kilometers of off-road extreme D.R. Congo, we passed hundreds of armed controls and bureaucratic thickets and bought a cup of tea in Egypt. This is the log of our adventures.”

“Oyibo. Two people, one motorcycle, 14 months in Africa” is the title of their book about which you can find out more here.

These days they went on a new adventure in Namibia, one of the most tantalizing destinations of Africa, a country of immense horizons, with sand dunes and impressive vestiges of the past geological distant Earth: petrified forests, fossil footprints of dinosaurs and the largest iron meteorite in the world.
Merinito will accompany them on this journey and hopefully the clothes we produce will handle the toughest conditions.
