How do you choose the type of material

How do you choose the type of material

Regardless of composition (100% merino or blends) and thickness, the Merinito materials, dependent on the kind of threads used and the knitting, consists of two types: RIB and JERSEY.

RIB (products with a thickness of 170g, 205g)

Merino wool RIB knitt

- very high elasticity (stretches up to +70%), adapts perfectly to your body shape
- it feels very casually, fluffy, light, airy, soft and very comfortable to wear
- very effective thermal thickness due to "air earbuds" that forms between the wool yarn
- instead it has a lower mechanical strength, and is relatively easy to break or pilling / scuffing to mechanical abrasion (wearing a rucksack directly on the woolen shirt is not recommended)
- takes the body shape but returns to its original size after washing.

JERSEY (products with a thickness of 150g, 185g, 200g)

Jersey merino knitt material

- average elasticity
- feels more fit and fixed
- it is smoother, shinier and lighter colors with metallic shades
- greater mechanical resistance to breaking / abrasion (though wearing a rucksack directly on the woolen shirt is not recommended)
- it retains its shape after wear
- the knitting is denser.

Materials with thickness of 240g and 280g are double-jersey (two jersey layers knitted together).

Finally, developing a preference for one type or the other is possible only after testing both of them.
